Jana L. Thompson

Jana Laine Thompson, 36, of Athens, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on
Thursday, December 21, 2017 following her courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on November 17, 1981 in Reading, PA, the daughter of Thomas and Jodi
(Daubert) Dinsmore.
Jana was a 2000 graduate of Wilson High School in West Lawn, PA. She then attended
Mansfield University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 2004. Jana
had a passion for helping and caring for others and started her nursing career in the
Intensive Care Unit at the Robert Packer Hospital in 2004. She found satisfaction in
critical care nursing and continued to work in the Intensive Care Unit until her health
declined. Jana also worked per diem at the Robert Packer Hospital in the Trauma, G.I.,
and Cardiac Rehabilitation Departments. Jana was also a dedicated and loving mother
who made raising her two children her number one priority in life.
She is predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Gladys Dinsmore.
Jana is survived by her husband of 11 years, Joshua at home, her beautiful children,
Mya and Noah at home, parents Thomas and Jodi Dinsmore of Wernersville, PA, maternal grandparents, Richard and Janice Daubert of West Reading, PA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Collin and Andrea Dinsmore of West Chester, PA and Daniel and Kristin Dinsmore of San Francisco, CA, uncles, Peter Dinsmore of Allentown, PA and Carl Dinsmore of Poughkeepsie, NY, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4pm-6pm at the Jay
E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens,
PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
