William John Crawford – January 11, 1933 – August 26, 2024

Wiliam of Omaha, NE, previously of the Valley area, was born on January 11, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late William John and Nellie Margaret (Anderson) Crawford.

He was preceded by his wife of 50 years, Nan (Walter) Crawford.

William is survived by his children, Douglas, Randal, Ronald, Cheryl, Cindy, Joseph, and William; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Vancouver H.S., Vancouver, WA in 1950 and Oregon State University in 1955 with a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for DuPont for 30 years and the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 20 years.

A memorial service was held at 11am on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 15002 Blondo St., Omaha, NE, with a gathering of family and friends from 10am to 11am.

William will be laid to rest with his wife of 50 years, Nan, in Bradford County Memorial Park in Luthers Mills, PA at the convenience of the family.

Nan Walter Crawford, 80, died on April 30, 2020.

She was born on October 7, 1939, in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry E. and Mary S. Walter, her sister Jane Barbier, and brothers Ray and Jack.

Nan is survived by her husband of 50 years, William, and a blended family of 7 children, Cindy Hardy, Joseph Pica, William Crawford, Doug Crawford, Randy Crawford, Ronald Crawford, and Cheryl Crawford. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Following Nan’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, Pennsylvania.

Memorials may be made to the Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company, 150 Herrick Avenue, Sayre, PA 18840.
