Obituary
Valerie (Smith) Ellis, 73 of Wellsburg, NY passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at home with her family by her side following an extended illness.
She was born June 16, 1949, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Curtis and Evelyn (Laar) Smith.
Valerie loved her family, especially spending time with her grandkids and her cats. She liked playing online Bingo.
Valerie is survived by her beloved husband of 13 years, James Ellis, children Troy Parry of Elmira, NY, Curtis (Carrie) Fidurko of NC, and Jennifer (John) Jones of Elmira, NY, grandchildren Nick, Ryan, and Gavin, sisters Sheryl Weissert and Kimberly (Clyde) Howson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Valerie’s wishes, there will be no services. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
The family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Valerie’s name to: Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, 2435 State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
