Todd Stratton Obituary

Todd M. Stratton, age 70, of Montour Falls, NY went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 10, 2024 at Robert Packer hospital in Sayre, PA. After suffering complications from his bicycle/car accident on June 17, 2024.

He was born in the town of Urbana, NY on February 3, 1954.

Todd's top priority was sharing " The Gospel" which is Romans 11;9-13 KJV That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Todd was a US veteran, honorably discharged from the Navy in 1972. Also, he was a multi-faceted, gifted musician, known as a local celebrity. Todd played what some described as "liquid silk" music on his "Strattonized" instruments: Stratton struts, a harmonica rack that he modified, a maraca with popcorn kernels inside stuffed in his shoe lace and picking with his super glued sculpted nails. Todd recorded five albums and wrote many more. His most recent album was "Pickin' 'N' Whistlin'" in 2008. Todd's music gigs were as far reaching as the Cayman Islands, California and Arizona. Many local venues, to name a few: Common Grounds Coffee House, Pollywogg Holler, Rooster Fish, Pigs Ear, Gleason Fest, churches, weddings, jails and galleries. Todd was also a professional finisher and craftsman. From restoring bell towers, building boats, tables and toys to carving canes, painting houses and restoring instruments and tools. Todd enjoyed traveling, "popping" in on friends and family, greasy spoons, nature, boating and bicycling. He also had a special love for animals, even playing them a tune or two! Todd will be missed but never forgotten, he was a very unique, special man.

He is survived by his son Todd J. Axtell of Pa., His Brother John (Rose) Stratton of Bath, NY, His sister Karen (Terry) Miller of Hammondsport, NY, and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his father William P. Stratton and his Mother Mary E. (Smith) Stratton and his brother Andrew B. Stratton.

Todd was placed to rest on July 25, 2024, in the Bath National Cemetery located in Bath, NY. The family was assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
