Theodore "Ted" F. Polasky

Theodore F. Polasky, 89, of Barton, NY passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026 at home with his wife by his side.

He was born on September 3, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of the late Theodore and Helen (Manzek) Polasky.

Ted was a 1954 graduate of Sayre High School, following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He was a program specialist for IBM in Owego, NY, retiring after 29 years of service.  Ted was a member of the Valley Masonic Lodge for 45 years and a member of the Pine Croft Golf League.  He was an avid bowler and belonged to many leagues at Valley Bowl Center where he bowled a career best 300 game.  In his younger days, he was an outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing which he later in life traded for gardening and landscaping. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Katherine (Merrill) Polasky; step-son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Kathie Pipher of Waverly, NY; sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s, Sharon and Pat Campbell of Sayre, PA and Jo and Gary Braund of Wetona, PA; brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s, Keith and Valerie Merrill of Athens, PA, Melvin Merrill of Athens, PA and Colin and Pat Merrill of Ulster, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main Street, Athens, PA 18810.  A Masonic Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 pm at the S. Litchfield/Bumpville Cemetery followed by military honors.
