Susanne Candace (Savacool) Wright

Susanne Candace Wright, 79, of Athens, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.

She was born on April 9, 1945, in Mansfield, PA, the daughter of the late Harold and Isabella Jane Savacool.

Susanne was an avid book reader, especially of Alfred Hitchcock mysteries, enjoyed black and white films and old horror movies. Music was an everyday must and her home was a constant music learning experience of all types of music. She was a beautiful singer and piano player. She was a part of the college chorus, singing her beautiful alto voice. Susanne loved history and if she hadn’t been a full-time mom, she would have worked at Colonial Williamsburg living history museum. She was very active in square dancing from 1984-2016. Susanne obtained her Associates Degree in Human Services from Corning Community College.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband Nelson Steven Babcock, second husband Clem Lane Wright, and brother and sister-in-law John Marshall and Sandy Savacool.

Susanne was the beloved mother of: Ritchie Todd Babcock, Samantha Jane Babcock, Penelope Anne (Babcock) Friedman and family Joseph Friedman and Alexis C. Friedman, Marcus Justin Babcock and family Kim, Hailey and Jake Reep, Jennifer Anna (Wright) Dunlap and family Chris Dunlap, Violet Jane Swimley, and Jack Daniel Dunlap, Lane William Wright, and Clem Michael Wright and family Misty, Alana Elizabeth Wright.

Following Susanne’s wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA, at the convenience of the family.
