Susann “Sue” Miller, 74, of Towanda, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her home after her courageous battle with cancer.
She was born January 9, 1950, in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Bienick) Pivovarnik.
Sue was employed as the Head Custodian with the Athens Area School District, prior to retiring. Sue and her husband, Charlie, operated the Mt. Spirit Parrot Rescue for many years and placed over 150 birds in new homes.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors. Sue was a member of the Saco Hill Church.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters Helen Panck, Bea Burkhart, and Maryann Pivovarnik, and brother John Pivovarnik.
Sue is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years Charles “Charlie” Miller, stepchildren Keith Miller, Aaron Miller, and Sherry Hicks, granddaughter Kate Ornelas, grandson Alex Ornelas, and great granddaughter Lillith Lucy. She is also survived by her brother Joe Pivovarnik, sisters Diana Jacobe and Barb Gilbribe, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved dog Bailey.
Following Sue’s wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
