Suky Lynn Decker-Schuster, 60, of Athens, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Suky was the daughter of Shirley and Edward Decker.
Suky attended Athens Area High School, and Bradford County Vo-Tech, graduating with the class of 1984. While in high school Suky performed in the Mello-Dears Drum and Bugle Corps.
Suky enjoyed having fun in life and had a bright smile when meeting people. Suky earned an Associate’s Degree from Lackawanna College, and attended Mansfield University. During life she had different occupations including waitress, certified nurses aide, bartender, adolescent group home childcare worker, laborer in local industry, and loved owning Suky’s Diner.
Suky was the loving mother of Jennifer Waldo, Mark Waldo (Whitney), Virginia, Sgt. 1 st Class Brandon Schuster (Miche), Ft. Carson, Colorado, and Rhys Schuster, Towanda. Suky was a proud Army mother to all three of her sons. Suky was an auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1568, Towanda, and Kellogg Mountain/Monroeton Rod & Gun Club, Monroeton.
Suky is survived by her estranged husband Tom Schuster, Towanda, her sons, brothers Edward Decker (Pricilla), Wasilla, Alaska, John Decker (Becky), Athens, sister Jody Carforia (Jeff), Binghamton, NY. Suky leaves behind her granddaughter Jalyn Bennett, who resided with her, grandsons Jaron Bennett, Cyrus, Brantley, Jackson and granddaughters Skye, Marley and Abigail, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Suky was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24th at 11am to 12pm with a memorial service to follow at Athens United Methodist Church, 118 S. Main St., Athens, PA.
The family suggests that contributions be directed to the Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179, Ulster, PA in the memory of Suky Lynn Decker.
