Steven Luchaco Obituary

Steven L. “Stever” Luchaco, 53, of Sayre, PA, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, August 9, 2026,  at Robert Packer Hospital.

He was born on March 23, 1973, on his dad’s 23rd birthday at 8:23pm in Sayre, PA, the son of Daniel and Lou Ann (Millard) Luchaco.

Stever was a 1991 graduate of Sayre High School. He then attended Penn Tech, graduating with his degree as an Aircraft Mechanic.  He traveled the world always furthering his education and working for multiple small airports. He then began his career with Lockheed Martin, Owego, NY, starting as a Helicopter Mechanic. He was currently a Production Completion Supervisor,  serving 20 years of faithful and dedicated service. He became known as the problem solver throughout the plant.

Stever had a great sense of humor, always loved to mess around and his laugh was one that was contagious. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, positive man who meant the world ,to not just his family, but to anyone that ever met him. Stever enjoyed woodworking in his Garagemahal. He always remained calm, cool, and collected no matter the circumstances. He could watch a YouTube Video once and knew how to solve the problem or fix anything.  He was an avid golfer. He loved competing in archery competitions, and was on TV for the Lancaster Archery Supply Classic due to being a top 3 finalist.  He loved to deer hunt, never missing a shot. He enjoyed building, designing, and flying model planes and eventually moved on to RC planes and helicopters, competing in many competitions.  He was a member of the Valley RC Club and the Waverly Sportsmens Club.  Stever was always up to new adventures and experiences, had a beautiful singing voice, enjoyed concerts, and was King of the Hill People.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Richard Lee Millard.

Stever is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Trisha Luchaco; daughter, Meghan Luchaco and her significant other, Seth Spiak; daughter, Alicia Luchaco; son, Ru Steckel;  and grandchildren, Oakley, Zachary, Deegan, and Delilah. He is also survived by his parents, Daniel and Lou Ann Luchaco, maternal grandmother, Joyce Millard; sisters, Amy Spina and husband, Marc and Melynda Kinzer, and husband Brian, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, his beloved animals Xander, Pixie, Snarf, and Fatness Everdeen, and multiple special friends.

A Celebration of Stever’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in Stever’s name to the Waverly Sportsmens Club, 389 Besemer Road, Waverly, NY 14892.
