Stanley J. Sobiech, Sr.

Stanley J. Sobiech, Sr., age 77, of Sayre, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on April 22, 2025.

He was born on June 17, 1947 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Stephen and Mary Ogiba Sobiech.

Stan was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.  He retired as produce manager from TOPS after many years of service and served as the union steward.

He is predeceased by his brothers, Stephen Sobiech, George Sobiech and Joseph Sobiech.

Stan is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Velma Freeman Sobiech; son, Stan Sobiech, Jr.; daughter, Angie Sobiech; grandchildren, Jonathan Sobiech, Rachel Sobiech and Kaela Sobiech; sisters, Mary Sobiech, Sophie Busick, Kathy Joiner; brother, Henry Sobiech; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call at Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main Street, Athens, PA on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, where a funeral will be held at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Robert Nacci officiating.
