Sigrid Doris (Johnson) Wilkinson

Sigrid Wilkinson, age 85, of Athens, PA, passed away on Oct. 15th, 2023, following a decline in health.

Born April 5, 1938, in Coudersport, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Johnson Sr., Doris Boyd Johnson, and step mother Esther Pfuntner Johnson.

She loved her family like no other and especially loved being a mom to her twin son and daughter and grandma to her grandchildren. She enjoyed weekend camping, spending time with her family, working with the Athens Area Science Olympiad, and teaching high school chemistry and math. She touched many lives throughout her career in education.

Sigrid was involved in many other activities and affiliations including the American Association of University Women and the adult literacy program. She was a member of the Athens Unitarian Universalist Church, was an avid board member at the Ulster Library for many years and continued to be involved with the Science Olympiad Program after her retirement.

She is predeceased by her husband Jack Wilkinson of 50 years, sister Loretta Berger and brother Ralph Johnson Jr.

Sigrid is survived by her children Brian Wilkinson and Beth Reposa (spouse Jeff), brother Eric Johnson (Denise), grandchildren Rachel Reposa and Ryan Reposa, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service will be announced at a later date to celebrate the lives of both Jack and Sigrid Wilkinson. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
