Shirley J. (Hutzell) Moore

Shirley J. Moore, 96, of Sayre, PA, passed away at home on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

She was born on August 31, 1929, in Ehrenfeld, PA, the daughter of the late Melvin and Elizabeth (Collins) Hutzell.

Shirley loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing home improvement projects. Shirley also enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, and oil painting.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years; Richard W. Moore, brother; Zane Hutzell, sister-in-law; Cookie Hutzell, brothers-in-law; Jim Dolan and Walt Johnson, and two grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her daughter; Kendra Lary, son; Richard W. Moore II and his wife, Mary, daughter; Karol Moore, son Steve Moore and his wife, Susan, and daughter; Karen Guinter and her husband, Earl, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters; Sally Johnson and Sunday Dolan, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved puppy; Katie.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
