Sandra Fay (Albert) Keener

Sandra Fay (Albert) Keener, 84, of Athens, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

She was born on February 21, 1939, in Lebanon, PA, the daughter of the late Edwin and Beatrice (Keller) Albert.

Sandra loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the     Che-Hanna Rock and Mineral Club and was known for the beautiful gemstone trees she made. Sandra was a Waitress and Dining Room Manager at O’Brien’s Restaurant for 25 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society Club and the Athens Senior Citizens Group. Sandra attended the Valley United Presbyterian Church.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Tami Somers and brother Edwin Albert.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband Gerould Keener of 66 years, her children Tim (Maureen) Keener and Tracy Keener, grandchildren Timothy (Callie) Keener, Tracy A. Keener, and Billy (Stephanie) Somers, great-grandchildren Brantley and Shelby, siblings Peggy (Burt) McConnell, Cindy Weigel, and Loraine Ackley, aunts, uncles, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Valley United Presbyterian Church, 459 Park Avenue, Waverly, NY. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm at the church with Rev. Sharan Knoell officiating. Following the services, the family invites everyone to share a dinner at the church. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

A private family burial will be held in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
