Ruth "Bootsie" E. (Dustman) Cole

Ruth E. “Bootsie” Cole, 76, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born on January 21, 1947 in Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Henry and Viola Schwab Dustman.

Bootsie loved her family, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandsons. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Athens American Legion Post #246 and the Sayre VFW Post #1536. She retired from the Robert Packer Hospital, Housekeeping Department and was a retiree of the Sayre School District Maintenance Department. She enjoyed working with and making silk flower arrangements.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Herbert Dustman and sister Henrietta Schuyler.

Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years David J. Cole, son and daughter-in-law David, Jr. and Lisa Cole, son and fiancé Michael Cole and Rachel Bresett, grandchildren Megan (Justin) Cates, Zachary (Dawn) Cole, Emma (Jacob) Blair, Landyn Cole, and Larissa Cole, two great-grandsons Jackson Blair and Robert Cole. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Donahoo officiating.

Burial will follow at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
