Rosemary D. (Talada) Lawson

Rosemary D. Lawson, 75, of Canton, formerly of Sayre, passed away on April 14, 2025 at the Robert Packer Hospital.

She was born on December 20, 1949 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Albert H. Talada Sr. and the late Lillian M. VanDuzer Talada.

Rosemary graduated from Athens High School in 1969.  During the Vietnam Era, the Sayre newspaper listed the local service men so people could write to them.  Rosemary said she picked a name and in 1971 she married that service man, Robert Lawson Jr.  She served as Vice-President of the Residence Council at Bradford Hills Manor, enjoyed doing arts and crafts and loved playing Bingo.

She is predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Robert W. Lawson Jr.; son, Robert W. Lawson III, brother, Bob Talada; sister, Tina Talada; and brother-in-laws Charles Lawson and Mike Vanderpool.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Amy J. Lawson; siblings, Albert “Butch” (Kathy) Talada Jr., Bill (Judy) Talada, Pat Vanderpool, Linda (John) Smith and Carrie (Tim) Stoker; also numerous several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends received at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main Street, Athens, PA on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm with Rev. Christopher Weems officiating.
