Ronda Kimball Obituary

Ronda L. “Strawberry Shortcake” Kimball, 61, of Athens, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Sayre Health Care Center following an extended illness.

She was born on February 21, 1962, in Sayre, PA, the daughter of Ronald, Sr. and Sylvia DeWolf.   

Ronda was a Christian and her deep faith in the Lord shined through her every day.   Her beauty shined through her in caring for others, Ronda was very smart, strong, and a gentle soul with a loving and giving heart. Many were blessed over the years with her smile and just by being loved by her.

She grew up in the Rummerfield area and attended the Towanda School District. When growing up, she and her siblings enjoyed swimming in the creek and fishing in the river. Following school, Ronda met and married her soul mate and best friend Lawrence “Larry” Kimball, spending over 40 years together prior to his passing. Ronda was a stay-at-home mom who also babysat other children in her home. Larry and Ronda enjoyed going for motorcycle rides, spending time at Mt. Pisgah, and vacationing at her favorite spot, Disney World.

Prior to her illness, Ronda loved cooking and baking, especially her mother-in-law’s Christmas cookies. Her favorite meal that she loved to cook and eat was meatloaf dinners. She also enjoyed going to the Grille and having their steak dinner. She loved butterflies, angels, the color purple, reading, watching TV, and playing Bingo and Cards. Ronda enjoyed listening to country music, and her favorite singer was Alan Jackson. She loved all animals, especially cats, her beloved cat Mango will now stay with Trina. Ronda loved the staff at the Sayre Health Care Center and was always grateful for the care given during her stay there.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband Lawrence Kimball and father Ronald DeWolf, Sr., and an infant sister.

Ronda is survived by her children Wendy Kimball, Shane Kimball, and Michael Kimball, grandson Patrick, mother Sylvia DeWolf, brother David DeWolf, and her special friend whom she considered a sister Trina Hughes and her daughter Katie, and her beloved cat Mango.

There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later date.  The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
