Ronald David Bennett

Ronald David Bennett, 72, of New Albany, PA, passed away on at home with his loving wife by his side on Friday, August 29, 2025 following an extended illness.

He was born on July 18, 1953, in Towanda, PA, the son of the late Robert and Rose Bennett.

Ronald was a Veteran of the US Army. Upon returning from the service, he was employed with Masonite in Towanda for 32 years, prior to retiring. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to help others, no matter the need. Ronald was a proud member of the New Albany Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and building things.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son; Ryan Bennett, sisters; Marjorie Bennett, Doris Kelley, and Phyllis Bennett, and son-in-law; Denny Merrill.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years; Carol Bennett, son and daughter-in-law; Todd and Allison Cole, daughter; Brenda Merrill, grandchildren; Tyler Bennett, Calista Armoia, Eric Merrill, Kristy Merrill (Matt Crew), Brittney Maddox, and Kellan Brookhart, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers; Gene Bennett and Gary Bennett, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Thomas and Nancy Decker and David and Jenny Decker, sisters-in-law; Joyce Quinn, Patricia Waltman, and Wanda Kithcart, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron’s family wishes to send an extra thanks to everyone involved in helping with his care over the past few months.

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11am at the New Albany Baptist Church, 166 Main Street, New Albany, PA with Pastor Debra Marker officiating.

Burial will be in New Albany Cemetery at a later date.
