Robert W. Wheeler, age 69, passed away April 3rd in Lake Ariel, PA. Robert, known to most who knew him as "Buzz" was born on December 16, 1955, son of the late Fred and Arlene (Harris) Wheeler. He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Arlene Wheeler; sisters Mary Wheeler, Linda Wheeler and Theresa Wheeler; and brother Fred Wheeler Jr.
Buzz worked many years at the Robert Packer Hospital in the dietary department. He also worked at the Morning Times for several years.
Buzz was a kind man who would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved doing many charitable things in the communities where he lived. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved watching wrestling on TV and in person. He enjoyed being outdoors and could be found hunting or fishing whenever weather would allow. Most who knew Buzz would tell you he was the "Life of the Party".
Buzz is survived by his nieces and nephews; Scott M. Heeman (Carlita) of Whitney Point, NY, Michelle (Steve) Johnston of Sayre, PA, George E. Heeman Jr. of Honesdale, PA, Becky Wheeler of Sayre, PA, Tammy R. Cornish of Towanda, PA, Alisa ( Brad) Chilson of Sayre, PA, Cherrie Heffron (Jeff) of Olyphant, PA and Tiffany Barton of Corning, NY; special caretaker Kim Heeman, aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main Street, Athens, PA from 10 am to 12 pm where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm with the Rev. Darren Maslin officiating. Burial to follow at future date at Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, PA.
