Richard Morgan Obituary

In Loving Memory of Richard Harry Morgan

Richard Harry Morgan, 73, of Melbourne, Florida and Athens, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home in Athens, Pennsylvania on October 22, 2025, surrounded by love.

Born on March 8, 1952, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Richard was the beloved son of Margaret and Richard Morgan. From a young age, he discovered a passion for building, and over the course of his life, he became a master carpenter known for his skill, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. He took great pride in his work—creating not just houses, but homes filled with warmth and beauty.

Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Morgan, his daughter Melanie Jones, son-in-law Leander Jones, and his cherished grandchildren Gabriel Player, Jamari Player, and Liana Jones, who were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter April Morgan, his son Richard Morgan, and his parents Margaret and Richard Morgan, all of whom he now joins in eternal peace.

To those who knew him, Richard was the definition of strength and devotion. He was a man of quiet integrity, steady hands, and an even steadier heart. His family will forever remember him as “the strongest man you will ever meet”—a man whose love for his wife, daughter, and grandchildren was truly beyond words.

He found happiness in life’s simple moments: cheering from the sidelines at his grandkids’ games, working side by side with them on projects, or enjoying a good movie surrounded by family. Richard also had a deep love for sailing and being on the water.

Richard’s legacy will live on in every home he built and every memory his family will forever hold dear. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his presence, love, and strength will remain in our hearts always.
