Raymond J. “Ray” Mullen, 76, of Sayre, PA, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on November 19, 1947, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Robert and Clara (Talada) Mullen.
Ray was a Veteran of the US Navy, and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post #1536, serving as the Past Commander of the Post. Ray was also a member of the American Legion Post #246, Athens. He was one of the most patriotic people you would have ever met and very proud of his military service to his country. Ray was an avid hunter.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Theresa Mullen.
Ray is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Danielle Mullen, daughter; Peggy (Mullen) Tracy, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother; Clarence Mullen, brother and sister-in-law; Stanley and Sue Mullen, 3 nephews, and his best friend and brother in arms; Mike Shaver.
Following Ray’s wishes, there will be no services held. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
