Peter S. Urtz, 79, of Brooksville, FL passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021. He was born in Mohawk Hill, New York on June 16, 1941 the son of the late Stanley P. Urtz and Cecelia E. (Nellenbach) Urtz Milles.

He was a 1960 graduate of Constableville High School and attended SUNY Morrisville. He relocated to Florida where he embarked on a 2nd career with school districts in Charlotte and Lee counties, officially retiring in 2003.

Peter leaves his wife, Sharon (Donahue) Urtz, and children Deborah (Frank) Gleason of Webster, NY, Tamara (Douglas) Feck of Mendon, NY, Eric Chaykosky of Tampa, FL, Todd (Sara) Chaykosky of Houston, TX and Rebecca (Ron) Winegar of Joelton, TN. Peter, a member of St. Mary Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Masaryktown, FL, had a generous heart and lent a hand where needed whether it was organizing the inaugural fundraising carnival for his church, designing and completing home improvement projects large and small, or lending an encouraging ear. His children benefitted from his example of living an upright life, and from his strong, steadfast support and encouragement. Peter was known to drop everything to come to the aid of his family. He appreciated the support and encouragement of friends and neighbors during a series of health challenges in his final years. In his later years, Peter especially enjoyed visits with his children and grandchildren and the antics of his great-grandchildren.
