Paula K. Hayford

Paula K. Hayford, 70, of Athens, PA, passed away with her loved ones by her side at Robert Packer Hospital, on January 17, 2024 following her brave fight with an extended illness.

She was born on January 15, 1954, in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Paul V., Jr. and Eleanor J. (Rowe) Hayford.

She was a 1973 graduate of SRU High School, East Smithfield. Paula was employed as a Cashier-Clerk with P&C Markets in Sayre, retiring in 2009. From 1995-2004, she was the Manager of the Athens American Legion Post #246.

Paula loved her family dearly and family gatherings were very important to her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren going to their various activities. She enjoyed playing cards, watching reality TV shows, cooking, and gambling.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers Emmett Hayford and Robert Hansell, sisters Helen Hansell and Elizabeth Hansell, nephew Jason Johnson, and sisters-in-law Darlene Hayford, Mae Keeney, and Beverly Hansell.

Paula is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Karen Hayford, granddaughter Paige Hayford, grandson Kegan Hayford, brother David Hayford, sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Rick Johnson, sisters Terri Hayford, Vickijo Hayford, and Tamisue Hayford, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and her lifetime friends Juanita (Brian) Peet and Nioma Condame.

A Time of Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 11am-12pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral Services will follow at 12pm at the funeral home with Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, PA.
