Maynard Parrish, 78, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at home.
He was born on October 6, 1947, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Earl and Alberta (Snell) Parrish.
Maynard graduated from SRU High School. Following graduation, he entered the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Maynard was a Truck Driver for F.M. Howell, retiring after 25 years. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church and a previous member of the Vietnams Veteran of America in Elmira. He loved to hunt, especially deer with a rifle and bow.
He is predeceased by his son, Jessee Parrish; and sister Etta (Parrish) VanDyke.
Maynard is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia (Brown) Parrish; daughter, Tabitha Parrish; grandsons, Austen Parrish and his wife Ashley Kremer-Parrish, Brent Parrish, and Brandon Parrish; great-granddaughter, Carly Parrish, daughter-in-law, Christine Parrish; sisters, Mina Allen and Patricia Timm, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Time of Visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 1pm – 2pm at the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church, 6346 Berwick Turnpike, Columbia Cross Roads, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church at 2pm with Pastor Jeff Falke.
Burial will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10am at the Bentley Creek Cemetery, Bewick Turnpike (State Route 4013), Bentley Creek, PA. Military Honors will be accorded.
