Matthew R Warren, 35, or Mateo to most, took his final flight from home to soar high above us on August 4th, 2024.
Arriving on Earth April 24th, 1989, Matthew born to a Muggle Family, quickly found a fond admiration for aviation and a few short years later the world of witchcraft and wizardry.
Matt spent his childhood utilizing his impeccable imagination and his ability to turn the most basic days into world adventures and even being the author of a few books. After Graduating from Hogwarts, Athens high school, California University of PA, with a degree in English, Matt found himself standing at the doors of Piedmont Airlines ready to trade his broomstick for a Dash 8 and put his love of aviation and travel to work as a flight attendant. Matt spent the next years traveling the East Coast making his name and voice known to anyone who traveled with them, and working his way up to technology and training program manager and the self-titled “inflight savant”. Matt absolutely loved what he did and never left the house without a laptop, just in case. No stranger to heading into whatever battle life held with nothing but his wits, a wand, and some dice. Matt would meet his greatest most powerful villain, Gastric adenocarcinoma. This Villain would put Matt through battle after battle, fighting valiantly using every spell and counter attack he could muster all the way to the end. Matt had an outstanding support party, of family, friends, medical staff, and his two k9 nurses Bella, and the late Aspen, by his side through every battle and it is now time for Matt to “Sashay away” as he would say. Matt had the most loving and gentle soul, and if he wasn’t working, he could be found with a game console in hand, writing, hanging with friends, playing board games, or lost in his own fictional world. Matt was a huge Harry Potter Fan, and could usually be seen wearing some Ravenclaw apparel.
Matt accepted everyone for who they were and had a giant heart and the kindest soul imaginable and you never knew what he would come up with next, but knew it would be memorable. Matt wanted to be remembered by saying “He loved his family and friends above all else and wanted to do his part to make the world as better a place as he could. He took pride in his work and did his best to find humor in every situation. His endless imagination was his greatest asset.”
Matt left on earth his loving Parents, Robert A and Bernadette C (McGough) Warren, brother Chris Warren, future sister-in-law, Maddie Horn, his loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and many close friends. Matt went to join his grandparents, aunts, cousins, and friends that have gone before him.
