Mae L. Corey

Mae L. Corey, 102, of Waverly, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

She was born on June 28, 1924, in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Franklin and Mable Corey.

Mae was the Queen of Bingo players, with Athens Township Fire Hall being her favorite. She enjoyed sewing and made a lot of quilts. Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waverly.

She is predeceased by her life partner, Hayden “Dick” Anthony; daughter, Rose; sons, Rickey, Rodney and Rick;  grandson, Robert Dean; sisters, Margaret, Rose, and Elizabeth; and brother, Ted.

Mae is survived by her son Richard Anthony; granddaughter, Jennifer (Tim) Sessaman;       great-grandchildren, Caytlyn Dean, Abregella Evans, Gage Sessaman, EmmaMae Sessaman; great-great-grandchildren, Aleah, Harper, Mackenzie, Delane, and Delilah; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and dear friend, David DeKay.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later time. Arrangements are in the care of Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
