Lucille Marie (Taylor) Gowan

Lucille Marie Taylor Gowan 89, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025 in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Taylor and Philomena Biviano of Cortland, NY , her sister Virginia T. Summerson of Cortland, NY and her son Patrick E. Gowan of Round Rock, Texas.

She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, aunt, niece, grandmother and great grandmother, as well as mom to many extended family and friends of both of her children.

Lucille was born in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the Robert Packer school of nursing. She was employed by the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania for many years.  Lucille was introduced to the love of her life, husband Larry L. Gowan of Sayre, Pennsylvania with whom she recently celebrated 69 years of marriage on January 5th, 2025, by Joan Collin’s, niece of Larry with whom she attended nursing school together. She worked for many years as a RN at Cortland Memorial Hospital. After marrying Larry L. Gowan on January 5, 1956 Lucille & Larry welcomed two children Patrick E. & Lisa M Gowan. A devout catholic with her designated pew Lucille never missed a day attending her St. Mary’s church in Cortland, NY. Lucille retired from nursing in 1970 to be a loving stay at home Mother, and devoted wife.
