Lorraine "Rainey" M. (Albert) Ackley

Lorraine M. “Rainey” Ackley, 84, of Athens, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Robert Packer Hospital.

She was born on February 26, 1940, in Barton, NY, the daughter of the late Edwin and Beatrice (Keller) Albert.

Rainey enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, and sewing. She was always ready to play a game of cards with anyone. Rainey was a member of the Athens United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by husband James A. Ackley, son Randy Ackley, brother Ed “Skeet” Albert, and sister Sandy Keener.

Lorraine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Chris and Tina Ackley, daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Shawn Madigan, grandson Josh Madigan and granddaughter Emily Madigan. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Burt McConnell, sister Cindy Weigel, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jon and Miriam Ackley, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jeanne and Bob Moore, sisters-in-law Rosemary Ackley and Carol Ackley, brothers-in-law Bernie Newman and Jerry Keener, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Melvin Bomgardner.

A Time of Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 11am-1pm at the Athens United Methodist Church, 118 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church at 1pm with the Rev. Christopher Weems officiating.

Burial will follow in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
