Leland "Zeke" Jennings

Leland “Zeke” Jennings, 84, of Sayre, formerly of Sheshequin, passed away on December 9, 2024 at home following a lengthy illness.

Leland was born on September 18, 1940 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Frank and Dorcas (Brown) Jennings.

Zeke was a 1958 graduate of Athens High School, upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country from 1958 to 1961.  In 1963, he married the love of his life, Alicia A. Raupers in St. Joseph Church, Athens.  Zeke was a machinist at Hardinge Brothers in Elmira, NY until his retirement in 2000.  In his younger years, he was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf.  Zeke enjoyed spending his vacation camping with family and friends in Myrtle Beach and Chincoteague, VA.  In his spare time he would remodel his home in Sheshequin.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, James and June Jennings; sister and brother-in-laws, Helen and Dorrance Gates, Alberta and John Morley, Phyllis and Gene VanDerpoel; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Elizabeth Raupers; and brother-in-law, Vincent Raupers.

Zeke is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alicia A. (Raupers) Jennings; daughters and son in laws, Lisa and Bill Bagwell of Baltimore, MD, Michelle and Patrick McNamara of Athens, PA; grandson Dominic Fabbri of Athens, PA; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, 11:00 am at Sheshequin Valley Cemetery, Sheshequin, PA.
