Kingsley Passmore, Sr. Obituary

Kingsley “Kink” Passmore, 90, of Waverly, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Robert Packer Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born on October 18, 1935, he was a son of the late Burdette L. and Katherine (Kingsley) Passmore. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Lesa Passmore, sister Linda Meyers, son-in-law Bill Hubert, Sr., and close friend Leland “Peewee” Stringham.

Kingsley was a graduate from SRU High School, where he met the love of his life, and went on to further his education by taking different courses in drafting. His first ever job was at the milk plant in East Smithfield and he had previously owned and operated milk trucks that delivered to Sanford Dairy Farm. From there, Kink went on to start working in different shop settings, starting from entry level until he reached Machine Shop Foreman at Emhart Glass in Elmira, formerly known as Powers Manufacturing, which was his last job until his retirement. He was a former volunteer at the East Smithfield Fire Department. Kingsley was a current member of the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church and a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Athens, where he had previously served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Kink loved crosswords and was considered a jigsaw puzzle master by his family and friends. He enjoyed taking motorcycle trips, especially with his two sons, and cherished the memories he made with them. When the weather permitted, you could always find him outside walking the trails with his dogs or camping and enjoying nature, especially at his favorite campground, Higley’s Camp Ground, in Forksville, PA. An excellent racquetball player, it was hard for his family to best him in a match. In fact, Kingsley excelled at most sports that he had played throughout his many years of participating in different community and church leagues.

Kingsley is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 72 years, Fayne (Swartwood) Passmore of Waverly; children Burdette K. Passmore and his wife Conny of Troy, David A. Passmore and his wife Doreen of Fassett, Diane M. (Passmore) Hubert of Sayre, Annette L. (Passmore) Barnes and her husband Randy of Southport, and Barbara J. (Passmore) Critcher of Wellsboro; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close friend George Gutierrez.
