Judith “Jody” Harrington, 86, of Sayre, PA went home to the Lord on March 4th, 2025 at home surrounded by family and friends following a brief illness.
Jody was born in Rockford, Illinois on February 19th, 1939, the daughter of Richard P. Harrington and Castelene B. Kemano.
Jody had fond memories of growing up on the family farm with her sister. She developed a love of animals from a young age that continued throughout her life; she told stories about her pet deer "Lilly" that she raised since a fawn. Jody moved to California as a young adult and had a successful modeling career. She later married and had a daughter. Jody traveled and pursued many endeavors including working as a home health aide.
Jody was a talented artist, a voracious reader and self-taught in health studies in which she practiced nutrition and wellbeing. Jody enjoyed nature, plants and animals, especially her Pomeranian dogs. Jody was a strong, independent, kind and generous person, who donated routinely to several charitable organizations.
Jody and her daughter were deeply devoted to each other and had a close loving relationship with her son-in-law, grandson and great-grandson.
Jody is pre-deceased by her parents and husband James Cook. She is survived by her sister Russlyn "Rusty" Harrington and her husband Sam of Seattle, Washington, daughter Karen and son-in-law Tyler Houmes of Athens, PA, grandson David Padilla of Sayre, PA and great-grandson Bryce (Rachel) Padilla.
