Jonnie French

Jonnie French, 77, of Athens, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center. She will remain in the hearts of the people who loved her.

She was born on February 14, 1949, in Ossining, NY, the daughter of the late Jonathan Edward and Ruth (Residorf) Morris.

Jonnie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a graduate of Ossining High School. Jonnie spent her life as a homemaker and cherished taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and researching genealogy. She enjoyed quilting and cross stitching.

Jonnie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndi and Rick Johnson, and Patricia and Chris Valek, daughter, Sarah French; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her former husband, Gene French; brother, David Morris; a nephew, and several cousins.

A Time of Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 11:00am – 12:30pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A brief Time of Remembrance will follow at 12:30pm with The Rev. John Vargason officiating.
