Joan Y. (Millard) Beeman

Joan Yvonne Beeman (Millard), of Beverly Hills, Florida and formerly of Athens Pennsylvania, passed away on September 4, 2023. Joan was born on May 19, 1934, to Miretta Nehr and Edmund Williamson in Passaic, New Jersey.

In 1952, Joan met Frank Beeman at Green Cove Springs, Florida and they married in 1953. They were happily married until Frank's passing in 2015. Joan and Frank went on to have 3 children, Debi Shields (deceased), Danny Beeman and Denise Moe.

In 1993, Joan retired and spent her time playing shuffleboard, growing magnificent flowers, participating in the fish club, traveling, and seeing the sights in Florida. She enjoyed singing in the choir at church and for the Golden Oldies choir. She loved to yodel and was asked to yodel locally and on the radio. Anyone who ever met Joan was affected by her selflessness and boundless love. Just knowing her improved the lives of so many.

Joan was predeceased by Frank Beeman, her spouse, and Debi Shields, her daughter. She is survived by Danny Beeman, son, Denise Moe, daughter (Steve), Brie Bingham, granddaughter (Chuck), Misty Austin, granddaughter (Mike), Timothy Beeman, grandson (Kristin) and Eric Moe, grandson (Rachel) and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Time of Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 6:00pm - 6:30pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. A Memorial  Service will follow at the funeral home at 6:30pm.
