Jeffrey “Jeff” W. Moore, of Sayre, PA, passed away on 6/10/24 at home following an extended period of declining health.
Jeff was born on 1/5/1953 in Sayre, PA to the late Walter L. Moore and Shirley M. (Talada) Moore. He was a 1970 graduate of Athens Area High School. Throughout his life, Jeff gained many valuable skills and acquired knowledge in several different industries, having worked at Robert Packer Hospital, Hagen Pet Foods, Terumo and Kmart. He also had experience in construction and transportation.
Jeff loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, with both gun and bow. A life-long New York Giants fan, he also enjoyed watching and playing sports including golf, softball and bowling. Jeff was a fantastic cook and loved sharing his delicious food with others. Friends and family alike always looked forward to their giant box of homemade chocolate chip cookies around the holidays.
Jeff was 16 years sober, and prior to Covid 19 was very active in local Alcoholics Anonymous Chapters. Helping and supporting others in their struggles with sobriety was very important to him. He was a very kind and loving person, always willing to do anything to help others. Jeff had a wonderful sense of humor and was always cracking jokes and making others laugh.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Michael Moore.
He is survived by his son Travis Moore and his fiancé, Nikki Blevins, grandchildren Chris (April)Moore and Harmony Moore, great grandchildren Nikoli and Octavia Moore, brother Steve (Nancy) Moore, sister Lynne (Mark) Rutledge, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends Dave Palmer and Dave Collette.
Jeff will be buried at the Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at the VFW in Sayre on August 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
