Jan M. (Witmer) Strope

Jan Strope, 69, of Athens, PA passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at Robert Packer Hospital.

Born March 17, 1953, in Danville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Virginia Hoffman Witmer.

Jan enjoyed cooking and crocheting.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Sonny Strope, her sister Lynne Lane, daughter Shannon Strope, and her granddaughter Sara Strope.

Jan is survived by her daughter Cary (John) Crossett, and son David (Emily) Strope, her grandchildren Ryan, Garrett, Gretchen, and Dylin, her great granddaughter Sophia, her sisters Sherry (Larry) Frisbie, Kim Witmer, Jill (Jim) Lastufka, brother-in-law Greg Lane, and sister-in-law Juanita (Brian) Peet, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held in Tioga Point Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband and daughter on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11am with the Rev. Linda Rogers officiating.

The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
