James "Slick" R. McCollum

James R. “Slick” McCollum, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025 surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 24, 1948, to the late Ray and Betty Sue (Williams) McCollum of Lexington, TN.

James was employed with Trayer Products in Elmira, NY for 35 years, prior to retiring. He loved spending time with his family and friends. James enjoyed NASCAR and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers; Phillip McCollum and Jimmy McCollum and brothers-in-law; Hammer Hatchett and Bear Todd.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years; Joan McCollum, daughter and son-in-law; Cheryl and Richard Wright, James McCollum and his fiancé Heather Raezer, grandchildren; Maverick, Bella and Nolan McCollum, Joshua (Marissa) Wright, Tricia (Shane) Swackhamer, and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters; Diane Hatchett, Debbie Todd, Pam Wood, and Tina Pulley, brother and sister-in-law; Randy and Brenda McCollum, brother; Timmy McCollum and his fiancée; Mary Lott, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 1pm to 2pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm at the funeral home.
