Irvin C. Smith

Irvin C. Smith, 93, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Sayre Health Care Center.

He was born on May 2, 1931, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Irvin P. and Ruth Merritt Smith.

Irvin was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He retired from GE Railcar Services. Following his retirement, he worked at P&C and then Tops as a Bagger and in Cart Returns.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife; Dixie Warner Smith, and grandson; Thomas William Cook III.

Irvin is survived by his son; Eric Keir and Jackie Miner, grandchildren; Travis Keir (Sara Wilson), Zachary Keir, Derrik Keir (Margo Connor), and Isabella Miner, great grandchildren; Lana Mae Keir and Remi Lou Keir, sister-in-law; Margaret Keegan, special niece; Amanda Keegan, special nephew; Charlie Keegan, and several other nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 11am-12pm at Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.,225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12pm with the Rev. Cindy Schulte officiating.
