George A. Freer

George A. Freer , 94, of Sayre, formerly of Clifton, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on July 13, 1931, in Rockaway Beach, Long Island, NY the son of the late Albert and Muriel (Fowler) Freer.

George was employed with Singer Sewing Machine Company for 30 plus years, prior to retiring. He loved gardening and working on cars. He was an avid Yankees fan. George also loved classical music. He had his 2 cats that he adored, Mickey and Casey.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Muriel Wood.

George is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Gregory Ferro, son Louis Freer, grandson Elijah Morgan, niece Joann Grunwald, and nephew Jim Wood.

Following George’s wishes, there will be no services held. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in George’s memory to Stray Haven, 194 Shepard Road, Waverly, NY 14892.
