Francis "Frank" Sudol Obituary

The easiest way to describe Frank Sudol, is the kind of person you can’t help but smile and feel loved when around. To his wife, children, and grandchildren, his hugs and advice provided unmatched comfort and calmed the greatest storms. He has been an inspiration to all who have crossed his path from his students, friends and family, and countless others. His quiet, humble demeaner represented his incredible intelligence, inner strength, and the person we all strive to be.

Francis Richard Thomas Sudol, Age 80, of Sayre, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at Robert Packer Hospital following an extensive battle with complex heath issues.

Francis was born November 30th, 1944, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, Miners Mills, as the son of the late Father: Frank Peter Sudol and Mother: Anna Elizabeth Keblish.

Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years and best friend Barbara Anne Sudol; his children: Jennifer Terza (Richard), Rebecca Majors (Larry), and Rachel Sudol; his grandchildren Paul, Phoebe, Sera (Daniel), Elaine, Trina (Nicholas), Maria, Lance, and Gabe; and many friends who became family.

Frank showed his love of sports through being the true definition of a Philadelphia Phillies fan, a team member of the Valley Bowling Team, and a track coach of nearly twenty years within the Anne Arundel County Schools. His strong faith was shown through his involvement in The Knights of Columbus Council #1807, member of the choir, and adorer at the Adoration Chapel for The Church of the Epiphany. Frank found challenge and comfort in puzzles of all kinds, collecting baseball cards, and above all, he could be found with a book at his side no matter when or where.

He began his career as a history teacher and continued as a guidance counselor in the Anne Arundel County School System for over thirty years. His natural gift inspired many of his students to follow in his footsteps by becoming teachers and coaches themselves.
