Florealia "Flo" (Ringgold) Layton

Florealia “Flo” Layton, 100, of Litchfield Twp., passed away at Sayre Healthcare Center, Sayre, PA, on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

She was born on February 4, 1924, in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Actwood and Margaretta (Powell) Ringgold.

Flo served in the Navy as a Cable Clerk, following high school graduation. She loved being a wife and mother, taking care of her family, and being a homemaker for them. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Flo was a member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church and Nichols First Presbyterian Church. She had many close friends and wonderful neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Eugene B. Layton, infant daughter; Valerie Layton, brother; Delancey Ringgold, and sister; Jelaine Boston.

Flo is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Jeffrey and Maria Layton of Litchfield, PA, Gregory Layton of Apalachin, NY, grandchildren; Christopher Martin, Bernie (Michele) Layton, and Jared (Emily) Layton of York, PA, special godchild; Sandy Robbins of North Brunswick, NJ, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Following Flo’s wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
