Filomena Josephine (Polzella) Bond

Filomena Josephine Polzella Bond, 94, of Orange City, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.

Born on May 18, 1931, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, Filomena was the beloved daughter of Armenio and Mary (Alteri) Polzella. She grew up in Sayre and graduated from Sayre High School in 1949. She went on to work as a New Business Clerk and Secretary for a life insurance company.

Filomena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was deeply involved in her Catholic faith and participated actively in Navy Wives functions. Family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Known for her beauty, grace, and sparkle, Filomena once wore the crown of a beauty queen. She cherished the holidays and took pride in cooking and baking for her loved ones. She also had a special love for cruises with her husband Duane, a stylish pair of shoes, shopping trips, puzzles, and caring for her cats.

Filomena was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Michael, Angelo, Modestino, and Anthony; her infant sister Beatrice; and other beloved family members.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Duane Bond; her children, JoMarie Bond, Gary Bond (Glenda), and Julie Lux (Rick); her grandchildren, Cyndi Burton (Shane), Ricky Edwards, Krystle Hein (Paul), and Jonathan Lux (Alyssa); her great-grandchildren, Brent Cruz, Tayler Wood (Taylor), Paisley Lux, and Cash Hein; and her great-great-grandchildren, Carson Cruz, Presley Wood, and Chloe Wood. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Louise Polzella, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends who loved her dearly.

Filomena lived a life full of love, laughter, and legacy. She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the sparkle she brought to every room.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 10:00 am at Epiphany Cemetery, 131 South Keystone Avenue, Sayre, PA with Fr. Shinu officiating. The family is being assisted by Lowery-urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
