Dorothy Krovetcz Obituary

Dorothy “Dottie” Krovetcz, 84, of Bentley Creek, PA, passed away Monday, November28, 2022 at Athens Health and Rehabilitating Center following a brief illness.

She was born on August 17, 1938 in Norristown, PA. She was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Hevener.

Dottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She adored her children and grandchildren. She was very active and loved her garden, bird watching, photography and kayaking. She was an amazing cook, having a well-balanced meal on the table every night no matter how the day went. She made an awesome apple pie. She loved shopping, so much that QVC and UPS stock might go down now. She could often be found outside splitting and stacking wood with Joe. Dottie was a member of the YWCA and the Friends of the Chemung River.

Dottie grew up in Elmira and graduated from Elmira Free Academy. In her early twenties, she was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines. When she came back to Elmira, she was a long-time employee of Rose, Kimball and Baxter. Other employers include Brewer Pools and Kimble Plumbing.

Dottie is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph at home, daughter Konnie Davis, Bethel, CT, son and daughter-in-law William Krovetcz and April Hart, Elmira, NY, grandchildren Kenzie Davis, Brooklyn, NY and Beck Davis, Bethel, CT, sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Maurice Sullivan, Norristown, PA, sister-in-law, Frances Palmer, Pine City, NY. She also leaves behind her cats Fat Cat, Kitten, Blacky and Bob.  She was predeceased by her in-laws Edward and Helen Krovetcz and brother-in-law Neal Palmer. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, December 10th at 3:00PM at Hill Top Inn, 171 Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira. Please join the family to celebrate her life and share a story or memory. She would want us to smile and laugh. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
