Doris M. (Wiles) Greer

Doris M. (Wiles) Greer, 83, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Athens, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2024.

She was the eldest of 10 children born in Sayre, PA, on June 15, 1941, to the late Howard L. and Emma Elizabeth (Merrill) Wiles.

Doris graduated from Athens Area High School. Her last 15 years, Doris resided in the Valley area on Riverside Drive in Athens. She always looked forward and cherished her monthly luncheons with her senior classmates. Doris enjoyed the simple things in life.  She was happiest when she was tending to her garden. She held a special place in heart for her dog, Peyton, who rarely left her side.

In her final months Doris was blessed to be surrounded by all her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Wiles of Sayre, Pa, and her son, Robert Cyr, Jr.                                                                                               

Doris is survived by her children, Bobbie Baker, Vance Baker, Wendy Cyr-Permenter, and Amy Cyr; her 10 grandchildren; her 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings; Louise Haskell, Arlene Farmer, Richard (Bobbi) Wiles, Patricia (Raymond) Middaugh, Kenneth (Susan) Wiles, Ronald (Theresa) Wiles, Deborah (Jay) Barnhart, and Clifford (Marilyn) Wiles.

Services and burial with her family in Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, PA will take place at a later date and will be announced in the spring.
