Donald E. Westbrook

Donald E. Westbrook, 93, of Athens, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2023, at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on January 11, 1930, in Athens, PA, the son of the late Jesse J. and Katherine (Chandler) Westbrook.

Donald attended Athens High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War obtaining the rank of Corporal. Donald was employed with Stroehmann Bakery in Sayre as a Custodian, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the VFW Post #1536 in Sayre and the First Baptist Church in Waverly.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers; Eldon Westbrook, Jesse Westbrook, Dorrance Westbrook, and Charles Westbrook, his sister; Janet (Westbrook) Bowen; and aunt; Cora Ward. 

Donald is survived by his nephew and his wife who cared for him; Benny and Kim Westbrook of Athens, PA and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and special neighbor and friend who helped him over the years Burt Cole .

At Donald’s request, there will be no services. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
