Dixie Ann Smith, 82, of Sayre, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Robert Packer Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Sayre, PA, on May 16, 1941, to the late Ralph and Winifred (White) Warner.
Dixie loved her family and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed watching the NY Mets and traveling to different Casinos. Dixie was employed with and very well-known for her time spent working for the Daily Review in the Sayre office.
She is predeceased by her grandson Thomas William Cook III, sisters Rose Rockwell and Ethel Emerson, and brothers Ralph “Bud” Warner and Charles “Gus” Warner.
Dixie is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years Irvin Smith, son Eric (Jackie Miner) Keir, grandsons Travis (Sara Wilson) Keir, Zachary Keir, Derrik (Margo Connor) Keir, granddaughter Isabella Miner, great-granddaughter Lana Mae Keir, sister Margaret Keegan, sisters-in-law Candy Warner and Kay Warner, special niece Amanda Keegan and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Time of Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 11am-1pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with Rev. Cindy Schulte officiating.
