David "Dave" Gary Selleck

David “Dave” Gary Selleck went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2025. He was born in Sayre, PA on August 8, 1945, the fifth in line of seven children, of Eleanor and Waldo Selleck.

Dave graduated from Athens High School in 1963 where he played football and did pole-vaulting. After graduating, he served as a Medic in the US Navy. He met his first wife, Colleen, with whom he had two daughters, Kim Baker and Wendy Selleck. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Lynn.

He was a jack of all trades who worked in the printing business, and he also was employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at an amusement park and then did odd remodeling jobs. He and his wife, Lynn, purchased a 19th century farmhouse in Cranesville in the late 1970’s, which they spent more than two decades restoring.

Dave loved fishing, tinkering “McGyvering” and hunting. He was a fluid and creative Storyteller, who loved sharing tales everywhere from the kitchen table to the VFW. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Colleen, father, Waldo Selleck, mother, Eleanor Selleck Lattimer and her husband Ed Lattimer, infant daughter, Melanie Selleck, brother, Leslie Selleck, sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Bob Deprospero, Cynthia and Dave Kerndt and sister, Marylou Wertz.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lynn, daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Carl Baker, daughter, Wendy Selleck, sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and George Chadwick, Nancy and Ray Maxim, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Following David’s wishes, there will be no services. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Athens, PA.
