David L. Kinney, Sr.

David L. Kinney, Sr., 70, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 Robert Packer Hospital.

He was born on January 5, 1956 in Waverly, NY, the son of Howard and Joanna (Hoyt) Kinney.

David worked for WM Spiegel Sons, Inc., retiring from there as a crane operator. His life was about giving to others. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a member of the Greater Valley Assembly of God in Athens. He enjoyed working on cars, and was a classic car enthusiast. He loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed cooking on the grill for gatherings, coin collecting, and was an Avid NASCAR and Green Bay Packers fan.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Johanna (Swank) Kinney; children, David Kinney II and Leslie Kinney; grandchildren, David Kinney III, Travis Fedock, and Addilynn Kinney. He is also survived by his parents, Howard and Joanna Kinney; sister, Kay Robinson; brother, Claude Kinney; sisters, Nancy Wood and Cathy Trudeau; brother, Eric Kinney; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 11am-12pm at the Greater Valley Church of God, 104 S. Main St., Athens, PA. A Celebration of Live Service will follow at 12pm at the church with Pastor Chris Gray officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Burial will be at a future date at St. James Cemetery, Waverly, NY.
