David J. Cole

David J. Cole, 81, of Sayre, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital.

He was born on March 23, 1944, in Sayre, PA, the son of Ira and Marian (Harrington) Cole.

David was a Truck Driver for ADS, retiring after 30 plus years. He was a member of the Sayre VFW Post #1536, Ft. Sullivan American Legion Post #246, and the Sayre Elks Lodge #1148.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruth E. “Bootsie” Cole, two brothers, and sister, Marilyn Williamson.

David is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rachel Cole and David and Lisa Cole, Jr., grandchildren, Landyn Cole, Larissa Cole, Megan (Justin) Cates, Zachery (Dawn) Cole, and Emma (Jacob) Blair, and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry Chapman and Manley Chapman, brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Margaret Cole, James and Patti Cole, sister, Nancy Miller, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 11am – 1pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1pm with the Rev. Robert Nacci officiating.

Burial will follow in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
