Christopher Storer Obituary

Christopher Eric Storer, 47, of Washington DC, formerly of Waverly, NY, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 following a brief illness at George Washington University Hospital, Washington DC.

He was born on October 9, 1976, in Sayre, PA, the son of Alan and Sherry (Chapman) Storer.

Christopher’s love for music followed him throughout his life and career. Following high school graduation, that passion brought him to SUNY Fredonia where he received his Bachelor Degree of Music in Vocal Music Education, May 1998, cum laude, and was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. Continuing his education, Christopher received his Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, May 2000, with a 3.7 GPA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While in college, Christopher became involved with working with the other students as a Residence Hall Director and Graduate Assistant. Christopher’s passion for Higher Education led him into becoming a part of the Recruitment and Admissions Programs at Brandeis University, Harvard University, Boston University, and George Washington University. During this time the recruitment and enrollments rose, much because of Christopher’s excitement in personally dealing with the college students. In the last few years, Christopher was employed with QS Quacquarelli Symonds as a Senior Strategy Consultant, heading up the Global Events. In 2020, he became a part of Libereka/C.E. Storer Consulting, which was worldwide, sharing in a vision of the way students and universities engaged in international mobility goals.

His love for music remained with him throughout his whole life. He was a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops. He was very proud of performing more than 20 concerts per year at Boston Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Tanglewood in the Berkshires. Because he loved to travel all over the world, he had the opportunity to see the many different cultures of the world and the diversity in music from nation to nation. He was involved in many leadership roles, participated in many conferences annually, and was a member of many Advisory Boards during his career.

He enjoyed taking cruises and seeing the different entertainment and meals that were served from many nations. He was a HGTV buff, loved cooking shows, and could frequently be seen watching Star Trek or Star War movies. Christopher was the first one to say to one and all, “Let’s go to a Broadway Musical.” He was first in line and would drag anyone with him willing to go. Christopher will always be remembered for his complete love and passion for music, and the performing arts. His light will never go out because of the many lives he touched along the way, forever his love for music and the brightness he brought to so many lives will shine on forever.

Christopher is survived by his parents Alan and Sherry Storer, brother and sister-in-law Joel and Heather Storer, sister and brother-in-law Michelle and Andy Terribilini, and half-sister Barbara Pyne. He was the proud uncle of Cooper Parker, Hadley Parker, Reilly Storer, and Brittany (Edwin) Jones, special cousin to Kelly Jo Chapman and loved by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his special friend Cleyton Crepaldi-Domingues, his beloved dog Callie, his many friends and the lives of those that he touched along the way. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
