Christina “Chrisy” VanDyke, 62, of Ridgebury, PA passed away on August 3, 2024 after a very brave battle with cancer.
She was born on September 6, 1961 to Larry and Judy VanDyke.
Chrisy was compassionate, loving, and a joy to be around. Throughout her life, she found herself caring for others. She spent 30+ years working as a nurse in rehabilitation and correctional facilities, and also providing home health for the disabled. Chrisy cared for many people through the years and treated everyone like they were special to her. She was devoted to support in her groups for recovery, her “tribe” as she liked to call it.
Chrisy had a passion for travel and loved to go to many exotic destinations across the county on her Harley Davidson motorcycle. In her later years, she settled down back home on the family farm. There, she enjoyed spending time in nature and its beauty. Her love for the outdoors brought out the happy free spirit that defined her. She also had a passion for animals, owning various eccentric ones over the years like alligators, peacocks, and opossum. You name it, Chrisy had it!!
The only thing that surpassed this love was the love she had for her family. Chrisy was a loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent most of her days enjoying time with family and telling stories. She was always the life of the party, always leaving friends with a story of something funny or crazy that Chrisy did; she took enjoyment in making others laugh and admiring her adventures.
She is predeceased by her father; Larry VanDyke, step-mother; Deborah VanDyke, her son; Joseph VanDyke, brother; Jeffrey VanDyke, and sisters; Julie Hitchcock and Tar-jo Morgan.
