Charles "Charlie" H. Groover

Charles H. “Charlie” Groover, Jr., 60, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Robert Packer Hospital.

He was born in Sayre, PA, on April 9, 1965, the son of the late Charles H., Sr. and Mary Ann (Harvey) Groover.

Charlie loved being outside, especially visiting with his family and friends. He was an avid history buff. Charlie enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to car shows.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son; Joshua Lee Groover.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Bobbi Jo (Ellis) Groover, son and daughter-in-law; Cody and Payton Groover, grandchildren; Sawyer Groover and Brantley Groover. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law; Charleen and Bob Purdy and Phyllis and Ignacio Vindel, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA .

Memorial donations may be made in Charles’ name to Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 South Main St., Athens, PA 18810 to help offset the funeral expenses.
